Description: The east side of Main Street looking south was blanketed with significant snow in the early 1900s. The photograph shows the shops, houses and commercial buildings, most of which are no longer standing, as well as a street railway car that stopped to pick up passengers near Richardson Avenue. Buildings pictured just beyond the street car in the distance (and moving up Main Street) are the old Richardson Light Guard Armory that was destroyed by fire in 1911, the Hodkins Building, the old Cutler Bros. Grocery & Grain destroyed by fire in 1911, the old Town Hall razed in 1958, the Taylor Building with its fourth floor and Mansard roof intact, the Walton Building razed in the late 1930s, and many houses and small stores.; Image from the Wakefield Municipal Gas and Light Department annual calendar, 2018; Photo courtesy of the Wakefield Historical Society.
