- "This house on Meriam Street in Greenwood was the home of John Kidney Ferris, left, his second wife Sara (Duchess) Ferris, standing next to him, and his daughter Eleanor Hutchinson Ferris, third from right. Eleanor later married into the Greene family. A larger dwelling which was built by a Capt. Newcomb occupied the site until it was destroyed by fire.
