Description: Photos show the Franklin School at 100 Nahant Street at the corner of Traverse Street. The Colonial Revival style brick school was built in 1902, and extensively remodeled in 1925, at which time its hip roof and a large columned portico was removed. A classroom wing was also added. The school was named for an 1871 grammar school which had been located nearby on Franklin Street.
