- Description
- Original photo taken by Joseph Payro on December 24, 1939 shows a locomotive heading south towards Melrose along the shore of Crystal Lake in Greenwood. Current photo taken by Cole Kraus, 2011.
- "I chose to mash-up these photographs because a train goes by our house everyday, and it is interesting to see how trains have changed. Recently, new engines have been added to the commuter rail. Some trains have two engines and some have double deckers with Wi-Fi. By 2012, all the commuter rail will have double deckers. It is hard to see if you are getting the right picture because the train is going so fast , so I used a setting called hi-speed burst that takes six pictures per second, so it makes sure you get one image that you like." - caption provided by Cole Kraus (age 11), contest winner.
