This interview includes the following topics: Mr. Johnson was born in Lyons, Nebraska on November 3, 1896. He joined the Seventh Nebraska Infantry while a student at the University of Nebraska. He transferred to the aviation section of the Signal Corps when the U.S. entered the war. Mr. Johnson trained at the Aviation Mechanics Training School in St. Paul, MN. He became a crew chief and mechanic trouble shooter. Mr. Johnson provides an excellent and in-depth description of the first U.S airplanes.
