In 1900, Joel and Mary Leonard were living at 647 Main Street. They lived with their sons Ralph, age 13, and Ray, age 12, and a servant Emma Stolsten, age 30. Ralph Davis, Ray M., Joel Marvin, Mary T. and Hiram West names on the quilt.

Joel was the pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, beginning in 1896. He married John Davis Pickles and his second wife, Lucy Cora Selee, Herbert Weeks and Hattie Orcutt, Walter and Bessie Churchill, and Ada Stone to Franklin Green Bennett, whose names appear on the quilt.
