Melrose Postcard Collection: Melrose, Mass.
-
Having a great time… wish you were here. Visit historic Melrose and surrounding communitites via the library's digital collection of scenic postcards.
-
The collection includes images of municipal buildings, churches, schools, historic homes, and other current and long ago scenes of Melrose, in addition to a few postcards from Stoneham, Malden, Medford and Saugus. From Ell Pond to Mount Hood and trolleys to shoe factories, the circa 1900-1955 postcards preserve a unique pictorial glimpse of days gone by. The bulk of this postcard collection was kindly donated to the Melrose Public Library by Kenneth Gloss of the Brattle Book Shop.
