TRACKS: CD 108: Born in 1891 on 15 Wiley Street in Rocky Neck -- Remembering the old engine house on Mt. Pleasant Ave, in Gloucester, the use of horses for the old fire engines is described -- Sailing parties from the Hawthorne Inn, Mr. Trefry used to help his father on these excursions -- Mr. Trefry talks about the livery and fishing businesses -- The boats from Gloucester to Boston in the old days - the City of Gloucester was a freight boat and the Cape Ann was a passenger boat -- The Colonial Arms fire of 1908 -- Mr. Trefry used to work at Archie Fenton's boatyard where the Great Republic was build -- Experience working with Austin Perry in 1916 -- The rest of this section is Mr. Trefry's description of his experiences in World War I, he describes the horrifying experience of being gassed during this struggle, I got away with it -- Discharged in the spring of 1919, he returns home to Rocky Neck for his old boss, Mr. Perry, house in which interview took place built 1924 -- Changes on the Neck, went four grades to school that is now the home and gallery of Emile Gruppe, Walter Buhler's old studio -- His view of the artists' contribution to Rocky Neck and to Gloucester in general -- He has lived on Rocky Neck virtually all of his life and now describes visual changes that have occurred on the Neck -- The causeway used to be stepping stones, electric cars used to run by the house -- More detailed descriptions of Rocky Neck in earlier days -- An awful lot of changes on the Neck -- CD109: Salt steamers from Sicily - changes in the building over the years -- Christian Science Center on Rocky Neck. (Disk 2 largely a description of all the changes that have taken place on rocky Neck over the years -- Used to cost 10 cents to take the ferry -- Comparisons made to other towns in the country.
